German Black And White Art Of The Classical Modern Movement
These Prints Are By Now Famous Representatives Of The German Classic Modern Movement. They Were Specially Commissioned By KUNST UND LEBEN, Fritz Heyder’s Well-Known Publication Which Appeared Yearly For 35 Years Starting 1908. The Artists Produced Woodcuts And Drawings Which Were Transformed Into Zinc-Etchings And Can Be Considered Original Prints, Since The Artist Produced The Initial Work Specifically For “Kunst Und Leben” (Art And Life) And Was Part Of The Printing Process. The Publication Numbers Were High Which Made The Prints Affordable, Then As Now. Heyder Wanted Not Only To Promote Modern Black And White Art But Also Wanted People To Own Good Art As Part Of Their Life. Great Names Included Are Kaethe Kollwitz, George Grosz, Max Liebermann, Hans Baluscheck And Dozens Of Others.
